Paper Title
Effect of Water Contents on Mudflow Zone of Sidewall at Phukham Mining

Abstract
The objective of this study is to determine the effect of water contents on factor of safety of sidewall slope stability of Phu Kham open pit mine. The direct shear test is performed on mudflow materials (black fault and volcanic tuff). The shear strengths decrease with increasing water contents. The test results are used to simulate in numerical models with a limit equilibrium slope stability method using SLIDE2D. The simulated results indicate that the slope stability depends on increasing water contents, slope face angles and slope heights. The empirical equations are developed here to predict the factor of safety of the slope with various water contents under different slope faces and slope heights. Keywords - Slope Stability, Open Pit Mine, Shear Strength.
