Empowerment of School Students as Health Literature Mediators for Malaria Management, Its Impacts on the Community about their Communities: Literature review

Abstract
Low health literacy causes poor health and a higher mortality rate than people with better health literacy. Access to media and exposure to health information has a vital role in improving health literacy. However, limited infrastructure in remote areas makes it difficult for people to access, understand and use health information to tackle malaria. Public health education intervention programs that depend entirely on health workers experience many obstacles in remote rural areas due to the lack of availability of health workers. Therefore, it is essential to empower local institutions that are always there and interact with their groups to improve health literacy. This study aims to describe an evidence based on current knowledge of the empowerment of school students in promoting knowledge, attitudes, and practices to combat malaria in rural areas and its impact on the surrounding community. This study's literature sources come from online journal databases that provide free journal articles, including Science Direct, Pubmed, and Google Scholar, indexed by Scopus. A total of 1337 articles between 2010 and 2022, of which 6 met the criteria, were included in this review. The article concludes that school students' involvement effectively promotes health for better behaviour change towards efforts to combat malaria not only among students but also for the people around them, mainly rural communities.
