A Literature Review Evaluation of Community-based Nutrition Surveillance
Abstract
The surveillance system is a very important element in providing an overview of nutritional status in the community. Therefore, periodic evaluation of the surveillance system must be carried out to improve its efficiency and usability. Objective: To determine the implementation of surveillance attributes including simplicity, data quality, and timeliness. Method: The method used is a literature review using several indexed articles. The keywords used in the literature search process are nutritional surveillance or community-based surveillance, evaluation or assessment, and nutritional status. Result: Surveillance evaluation must involve surveillance attributes, both overall and on certain attributes according to values that have high leverage. So that the decision-making process is not wrong. In the implementation, there are still some obstacles, but if it is well organized, the obstacles in the implementation of nutritional surveillance can be done as early as possible. Conclusion: For the decision-making process to be based on surveillance data, surveillance evaluations must be carried out periodically. As for what must be evaluated is the attribute of surveillance, both as a whole and on certain attributes.
