Paper Title
Environmental Pollution: Assessment of Pollution with Heavy Metals in Water in the Recent Years

Abstract
- Industrial development has consistently impacted the quality of water and the environment around the world. We often forget that the responsibility for preserving the water falls upon each one of us, since we are theusers, and we are also responsible for its pollution. While Earth may be known as the "blue planet", only a small fraction of its water—less than 3%—can be used for drinking, while the rest belongs to seas and oceans. Surface and underground water are important elements in the water cycle on the ground. Among others, water is used for agricultural, industrial, household, and different personal purposes. Nowadays, a serious concern in many countries, is that the use of water is not controlled strictly. There is increased water pollution, inappropriate treatment, and untreated waste disposal, which can all cause serious damage to society. This study is a collection of different water samples and the pollution in recent years because of various industries in the study area, the Republic of Kosovo. It collects different results taken from numerous research of heavy metals (Cd, Pb, Cu, Zn, Cr, Ni, Fe) measured with atomic absorption spectroscopy and inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometery (ICP-AES)in water and sludge samples.According to the study, the most effective long-term solution to address the problem of pollution is to raise awareness among the general population about the importance of preventing further pollution. More work needs to be done to address the inadequate use of pesticides in agriculture, both from a legal perspective as well as education-wise.
