Paper Title
Cyber-Bullying and Emotional Intelligence Among Adolescents in Vietnam

Abstract
Being cyber bullied is increasing worldwide and leading to a higher prevalence of mental illness among adolescents. In high-income countries, emotional intelligence has been proven to be a predictive and protective factor against cyber victimization. However, there is limited evidence of this association from low- and middle-income countries. This study aims to investigate the predictive role of emotional intelligence in cyber victimization among adolescents in Vietnam. A school survey was conducted among 465 students using the Cyber bullying Victimization Scaleand the Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire. Findings reveal that emotional intelligence can reduce the risk of being bullied online and a high emotional Self-Control ability can predict less being cyber-bullied. This study provides evidence from a lower-middle-income country about the role of EI in school and that programs to prevent cyber bullying and its consequences among adolescents should include developing EI, especially the ability of self-control.
