Abstract
Enterprise Architecture (EA) brings notable benefits in supporting the management and governance of organizations. However, this concept is still little explored when we refer to the application of EA in health systems. This research investigates and proposes afeasibility study towards an Information Systems Architecture for Brazilian University Hospitals based on Enterprise Architecture Principles. The data collection methodology was based on consultations with institutional documents, interviews with key stakeholders, and participant observation in the hospital's information technology sector. Data were analyzed using the method of triangulation of data collected through open coding. This research presents the development of an Information Systems Architecture regarding the hospital IT sector's current and future business processes using the TOGAF 9.2 framework and Archi software. In this study, it was possible to present tools that can help in the governance of UHs through a replicable methodology, seeking to contribute to boosting new studies and research on the implementation of EA in UHs.
