Impact of Covid 19 Pandemic on Global Energy Consumption and CO2 Emissions

Abstract
This paper tackles influence of the Covid-19 on energy transition. The aspects of the energy transition in focus of this paper are GDP, CO2 emissions, and primary energy consumption. Out of the basic relationships among these variables, we conclude the behavior of renewables and prospects of energy transition in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic. We conclude that the energy transition was not derailed by the pandemic, but was even accelerated. Keywords - Energy Transition, Renewables, Energy Intensity, CO2
