Formulation and Evaluation of Comparative Study of Natural and Synthetic Polymer of Matrix Tablet (Methotrexate)

Abstract
The objective of this research was to develop methotrexate matrix tablet by using natural and synthetic polymer xanthan gum, cashew gum, H.P.M.C. to increase the patient compliances and to optimize formulation which favor of body susceptibility and to minimize the side effect by synthetic polymer. Better therapeutic efficacy and reduced dosages regimen with less toxicity for treatment of many acute and chronic disease. All the pre-compression parameter like Tapped density, Bulk density, Carr’s index Hausner ratio, Content uniformity, Physical appearance, In-vitro drug release. U.V. & F.T.I.R. evaluated the compatibility of used excipients, all studies reveled that there is no interaction between the excipients and the drug and no significant effect on the drug physicochemical properties. The Matrix Tablet found to be the having extended half-life when compared to other conventional dosages. The Matrix system is an effective approach to prepare methotrexate matrix tablet with extended release profile..
