DEVELOPMENT OF THE 3C LEARNING MODEL BASED ON EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE THROUGH ART AND DESIGN IN GIFTED EDUCATION
Abstract
Where a massive researches related to gifted education in the past focused on the cognitive fecets of gifted learners, recently, it has been expaned to attest among educators and researchers in fathoming the emotional and social charasristics of gifted student. In fact, many gifted learners are experiencing diffuculties due to social and emotional difficulties, and Emotioanl Intelligence training can be helpful to gifted learners who are vulnerable to interpersonal behaviour. This research is to design a practical learning model based on 3C(Creative, Confident, Caring) competencies through the Art and Design project to cultivate Emotional Intelligence of science gifted students. The program is designed as a process-oriented learning based on writing and exploring visual expression. Based on emotion recognition, emotion expression, empathy, emotion regulation, and emotion utilization suggested in previous studies, it was produced for actual classes suitable for secondary science gifted education subjects. Specifically, it consists of writing about self-reflection, finding one's own keywords through color, expressing positive and negative emotions through contour drawing, self-portrait illustration work, and exhibition and sharing activities. If it had been done in a unilateral way, it was structured in a way that focused on the process through step-by-step feedback between learners and learners and between learners and instructors.
