Development of the National Food Distribution System: Case of Kazakhstan
Abstract
The accumulated experience in the field of commodity distribution has shown the need for a systematic approach to addressing the problems of developing a food distribution system, especially the creation of an integrated logistics distribution system, which will help establish strong ties between various links and supply chains.
The purpose of the article is to analyze the existing conceptual approaches to the creation of a national commodity distribution system and to identify promising directions for its development.
A promising direction for the development of the national food distribution system (NFDS) is the multi-channel sale and distribution of goods, which has a competitive advantage over existing ones. Firstly, recommendations for development through the restructuring of existing wholesale markets and wholesale distribution centers into an organized commodity distribution and distribution network and their integration with the retail networkare formulated. Secondly, the creation of an integrated NFDS based on logistics and digitalization of the distribution network and system is discussed. In this approach, it is possible to rebuild the entire system - to use pull systems for managing the movement of goods, the essence of which is to supply goods to the next link from the previous one as needed, which makes it possible to increase the flexibility and efficiency of work, increase the competitiveness of the distribution network and the quality of customer service.
