Paper Title
A Type-1 Fuzzy Logic System for the Modelling of Fused Deposition

Abstract
The fused deposition modelling (FDM) process is modelled to predict the mechanical attributes of 3D printed specimens. Eight different FDM parameters are examined in this research work for two types of materials, namely, Polyether-ether-ketone (PEEK) and Polyether-ketone-ketone (PEKK). A Taguchi L18 orthogonal array is utilized to conduct a set of experiments. A type-1 fuzzy logic system (T1FLS) is then developed to map the eight FDM parameters in addition to the material type to the mechanical properties represented by the ultimate tensile strength and the elongation of the 3D printed parts. Validated on the conducted experiments, the T1FLS has the ability to map the FDM parameters to the mechanical properties of the 3D printed parts and to predict these properties with an acceptable predictive performance.
