Paper Title
Accurate Computing of Electric and Magnetic Fields of High Voltage Transmission Lines

Abstract
In this paper, a comparison is made between two methods for calculating the electric and magnetic fields generated by overhead high voltage transmission lines. Specifically, the two methods are the geometric mean distance (GMD) method and the Complex Depth of Earth Return (CDER) method. The comparison reveals that CDER method gives significantly more accurate results. Computer programs were written using MATLAB so as to obtain the results presented in this paper. Electric and magnetic fields emanating from a double-circuit high-voltage transmission line are computed and presented. In order to show the validity and usefulness of the computed results, measured data are used to determine the accuracy of each of these two methods.
