UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF ENVIRONMENTAL JOLTS, CAN THE HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT HAVE A POSITIVE EFFECT ON THE ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE? THE MEDIATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL JOLTS ON HUMAN RESOURCE SYSTEM AND ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE
Abstract
Under the circumstances of environmentaljolts, can the human resource management have a positive effect on the organizational performance? This study uses the dynamic capability view to explore the relationship between human resource management and organizational performance underenvironmental jolts. By counting the number of occurrences of the human resource management keywords in the annual reports of shareholders' meetings before, during and afterenvironmentaljolts, this studyexamines the changes in the impact of the corporate human resource system on organizational performance before, during and afterenvironmental jolts.This study adopts the content analysis method to analyze the annual reports’ text contents, from 2007 to 2010, of shareholders' meetings of Taiwan listed and OTC companies and then conducts a simple regression analysis against organizations’ financial performances. In order to avoid the influences caused by different industries, the industry category is added as a control variable.This study conducts data analysis on a total of 1,322 Taiwan listed and OTC companies, resulting in a total of 5,822 data points, and uses SPSS for simple regression analysis to verify the theoretical framework.
