Paper Title
Methods of Osprey (Pandion Haliaetus) Nest Relocation in Northern Red Sea, An Initial Review
Abstract
As part of the conservation efforts in the northern Red Sea development areas in Saudi Arabia, the nests of Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) have been moved, out of nesting season, to relocate them away from areas where they would be damaged or disturbed by development. Whilst the provision of nesting artificial habitat options has been well published, the attempt to relocate existing nests is poorly described in the literature and conservation guidance. This initial review provides year one results from attempts to relocate the nest sites as well as the methods employed to identify suitable locations and move the existing nest material.
