Zinc Oxide (Zno) Nanorods Hydrothermally Grown On Stainless Steel Substrate For Various Applications
Abstract
Zinc oxide (ZnO) nanorod (NRs) has received considerable attention due to its outstanding properties offering great potential for many applications. In this work, we successfully synthesized vertically aligned ZnO nanorods (ZnO NR) arrays on a seeded stainless-steel substrate by using low-temperature, low-cost and environmentally friendly hydrothermal technique. Characterizations of the seed layer and the resulting nanorods were investigated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and water contact angles (WCA) measurement.
SEM analysis shows that the resulting nanorods were deposited homogeneously on the whole substrate. XRD study confirmed the hexagonal wurtzite structure of ZnO nanorods arrays. Finally, we have shown that the coated stainless steel has good stability and excellent self-cleaning property.
