Paper Title
Two Waves of Globalisation: Comparison and The Role of Governments

Abstract
This paper presents an analysis of the fundamental differences in the forces that promoted and retracted the two waves of globalisation. The first wave encountered higher levels of global mass migration and transport-technology developments, whereas the second wave was marked by communication infrastructure advances. Furthermore, these movements were supported and opposed by governments depending on their political ideology and economic conditions.
