Artisan Management for Textile Based Home Decor Micro Small Medium Enterprise: A Study Case of Arka Bedlinen

Abstract
Indonesia has been known as the haven of various traditional art and craft which has its roots in the culture and still many are preserved and developed in the modern day. The vast market and creativity available, local and globally, has made some of the products thrive and become sought after. The core of its presence and their growth in the industri is their artisan. The study highlights artisan management as its base interest. The business in focus is bed and linen producing company. Considered as a micro small medium enterprise in the present moment, it expects to be developed in terms of scale due to the market opportunity in the near future. This vision can only be followed through with proper artisan management. It is becoming a strategic consideration since the business relies heavily on artisan skill .Theory like Management by Objective is considered suitable to approach the case in both overall strategic perspective and into a more focused artisan management development framework. Its flexibility and relative simplicity in mapping outcome and objective as well connection where artisan plays its role in the business process has been well recognized. The theory provides guidance in analysing growing enterprises, in various scales. It is also considered a proper concept theory to access art and creative skill based business that involve intangible and empirical aspects in the process. Core Competition is used to approach internal analysis and to unravel the core competence the company possesses along with its potential in honing its artisanal value as part of its strategy whereas Porter Five Forces framework is used to approach external analysis and analyze the environment of the industry. SWOT Analysis provides a balanced overview of the current operation condition internally and externally. The study is expected to produce a practical implementation potential yet comprehensive recommendation on artisan management to apply in various comparable industries alike in Indonesia regarding the fast shift and development in the industry globally. Placing and appreciating human skill in the vast digitalized and automated industry. Adopting the modern approach to grow alongside the irreplaceable artisan skill and craftsmanship to meet quality required by the consumer.
