Effective Health Communication Approaches on Strategic Breast Cancer Awareness Practices
Abstract
The role and place of media in various fields and spheres of life cannot be overemphasized. The print media, the broadcast media as well as the internet alike have proven in their distinct and collective ways to be key and effective means of information dissemination which could bring about major change in individual’s behavior.
This study aimed at investigating the media role in the perception of people on information credibility of cancer awareness and quality of health care received. HINTS 5 Cycle 3 data which was collected between January and April 2019 was utilized for this study. The data was analyzed with “Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM)” for items and structural model assessment, and the estimation was carried out with WarpPls (Version 7.0). Our findings revealed a direct and significant relationship from challenge of health information sourcing, online source of information, and belief about cancer to information credibility.
