Readiness of Food Companies in the Czech Republic for the Implementation of Industry 4.0
Industry 4.0 is as a revolutionary concept in manufacturing that combines physical and digital elements into intelligent automated systems. The concept requires the integration of business divisions, higher value-added chains, but this is conditional on the full digitization of business areas. Regarding the implementation of Industry 4.0, there is still a lack of clear understanding of the evaluation areas of implementation, therefore this paper summarizes selected research that is dedicated to the evaluation of the readiness of enterprises for the implementation of Industry 4.0 and presents its own research in this area. The paper provides an initial insight into the implementation issues in the case of food industry enterprises in the Czech Republic. It focuses on the analysis of the enterprises' own readiness and examines the dependence of readiness mainly on the size of enterprises.
