Paper Title
Higher Education Institution Research Management: Challenges and Solutions
Abstract
Higher education institutions constitute the knowledge sector of the society in that they are responsible for the generation and dissemination of the knowledge required for the growth and evolution of the society. Consequently, managing the research outputs of higher education institutions has become a priority for the society. This paper adds to the growing body of work on higher education institution research management by laying out some of the challenges it faces, and what solutions might work for resolving the challenges. The paper concludes that the challenges are not too devastating as to cripple the improvement of higher education institutions’ research practices and that implementing some or all of the identified solutions would go a long to cement the place of higher education institutions as a central piece in the growth and evolution of the society.
