E-Commerce Provoking Women Empowerment: A Study of Women Empowerment in Lahore City

Abstract
The study is to explore impact of e-business ande-commerce related towomen empowerment. Women empowerment related attitudes that are affected by e-commerce are identified using a survey. Data collection was done with the help of semi-structured questionnaire attempted by a sample of 213 persons consisting of 116 females and 97 males in Lahore, Pakistan. Various factors about women empowerment are indicated by the findings of the study. The study shows thatmeasures of women empowerment are mainly “(1) Employability, (2) More social freedom and acceptance, and (3) More Self-esteem. Fifteen questions are made to exploreimpact of e-business and e-commerce concerned withwomen empowerment”. The workings of study show that e-business and e-commerce is a strong instrument in encouragingempowerment of women. It is believed by women that e-business and e-commerce helps them in empowerment in different social issues.
