Impacts of Water Environment Improvement Project on Natural Environment of Hue City

Abstract
With the descriptive statistical method and comparison, this study uses the survey data of 90 households in project wards and 30 households in non-project ones to collect information about the impacts of the implementation of “Water Environment Improvement” project in Hue city. The study result shows that during the process, all the air, water, soil, and urban landscape environment in the study area have been affected. The main influencing factors are dust, noise, stormwater runoff and the delay in construction. In addition, the project has also resulted in some positive outcomes such as quickly returning major roads in the city to their original conditions, the completed project areas being free of inundation and water pollution as well as landslides and soil erosion being significantly improved.
