The Application of Tourism Impact Attitude Scale (TIAS): The Case Study of Tara National Park, Serbia

Abstract
This research aims to determine the attitudes of local residents’ toward the impact of tourism development in the Tara National Park. The positive attitude of local community is very important and it leads to the successful functioning of the national park in all spheres and it can significantly facilitate actions aimed at conservation and sustainable management. In order to achieve the goal of this research, an online questionnaire was constructed. Tourism Impact Attitude Scale (TIAS) is applied as a basis for analyzing local communities’ attitudes towards the impact of tourism development. Responses from residents were analyzed using SPSS. Principal components analysis (PCA) was performed to determine the dimensions of tourism impact attitude scale. The analysis of the survey has shown that the local residents of Tara National Park generally recognize tourism as a potential development way and have a positive attitude towards this industry.
