A Feed Forward Neural Network and Business Process Model for Loan Approval (A Case Study of Stanbic Bank)

Abstract
The era of machine learning and neural networks has made decision making process very easy in a lot of industries. Banks and credit companies are one of these industries that can benefit from using neural networks in their loan constituent. Deciding a loan is one of the most complex process in banking activities, because lot of factors is taken into consideration for a loan to be approved. There can be many issues which are mostly caused by human error due to the simple fact that a loan officer has the power to decide to grant loan or not. Implementing feedforward neural network (FNN) can solve many of these human errors which will results in higher rate of success and reduce loan defaults.
