Application of Sustainable Tourism Attitude Scale (SUS-TAS): The Case Study of River Gradac Gorge, Serbia

Abstract
Local residents’ attitude toward sustainable tourism is crucial to community involvement and tourism development. The purpose of this research is to analyze the attitude of local residents towards sustainable tourism development in the Landscape of Outstanding Features - River Gradac Gorge (n = 853). Data are collected using a structured online questionnaire. Sustainable tourism attitude scale (SUS-TAS) is applied as a basis for analyzing local communities’ attitudes towards sustainable tourism development. The Sustainable Tourism Attitude Scale (SUS-TAS) has been widely recognized as an encouraging tool for evaluating tourism sustainability. Principal components analysis (PCA) with a varimax rotation was performed to determine the dimensions of the sustainable tourism attitude scale. The study results show that local residents have agreeable attitudes towards sustainable tourism of the River Gradac gorge.
