Gender Differences of Inter Organizational Job Mobility among Youth in the Private Sector of Sri Lanka: an Analysis of Individual and Work Related Factors

Abstract
This study employed data of 200 respondents to bring results and draw conclusions. Mainly, descriptive and econometric tools were used to analyze data. A binary logistic regression and chi square tests have been used to bring results. The results of the study showed that, men were more likely to shift the job with compared to women. Other than that, job satisfaction was also taken into consideration under three criteria namely, job stress, wage fairness and promotion attainment. As well as, age, educational level and number of dependents in the family were included to the model as these individual factors also affecting to the job mobility. Other than these, family matters, marital status, children’s education, infant’s caring were also affected to change the job between inter organizations among men and women. Therefore, this study gives important hints to the policy makers on the adjustments which should made in the labour market and what should be concerned for the empowerment of workers.
