A Comparative Study on Sìchuān Chinese Phonology in Three Works Written by Western Missionaries

Abstract
This paper analyzes the phonological system of Sìchuān Chinese of three works as recorded by Western missionaries in the late 19th and early 20th century, Dictionnaire Chinois-Français de la Langue Mandarine Parlée Dans L’Ouest de la Chine Avec un Vocabulaire Français-Chinois, Western Mandarin, and CHINESE LESSONS for First Year Students in West China, and compares with the Chéngdū Chinese phonological system in the middle of 20th and early 21st century.
