The Sustainability of Participatory Supplementary Occupation Development for Increasing the Economic Strength among Farmers in Mae Tip Sub-district, Ngao District, Lampang Province

Abstract
The objectives of this study included (1) to study the community context and problems in occupational problems of farmers, and (2) to develop participatory supplementary occupation with sustainability among farmers in order to create economic strength in Mae Tip Sub-district participatory community, Ngoa District, Lampang Province. The samples of key informants employed with 50 members of the agricultural group, 2 scholars working in Mae Tip Sub-district Local Administrative, and 1 of a localexpert, a total of 53 samples. The data collection was done by conducting an in-depth interview and group discussion for content analysis. The findings showed as follows; (1) the current state of the agricultural group indicated that most of them are seniors. Currently, they have cultivated rice, corn, garlic, Chinese cabbage and have done farming since their plantation area is the fertilized mountain and full of natural resources such as mixed deciduous forest and various wildlife; 2) most of the farmers have intended to have an increase of income when they are free from the plantation in order to help families and meet members of the group for idea exchanging including knowledge sharing. As occupational promotion guidelines for increasing strength of participatory economic community to farmers in Mae Tip Sub-district, Ngao District, Lampang Province, it revealed that farmers have agreed to make cloth mop products, focusing on the use of wasteful materials such as cloth and wood and raw materials available in the community as a component of flooring products by integrating existing local wisdom with the resources available in the community. This can bring to value-adding and can create the mobility of the households with the increase of income by domestic selling, and the activities which government agency have organized.
