Paper Title
Chiropractic Care of a Patient with Vascular Type of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome

Abstract
Thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) is a constellation of signs and symptoms caused by compression of the brachial plexus and subclavian vessels in the thoracic outlet region. Neurogenic TOS is responsible for 95% of cases, vascular TOS accounts for 5% of cases.[1] Vascular TOS is mostly caused by presence of cervical rib and/or elongated transverse process.[2] Here we describe a rare case caused by hypertrophy of the scalene muscles in a 30-year-old male who was treated successfully with chiropractic management. There are currently no consensus guidelines for diagnosis and treatment with TOS, and there is a paucity of published reports describing the management of vascular TOS through conservative care. Reassuringly, chiropractic treatment for uncomplicated TOS appears to be highly effective.
