Factors Affecting the Cooperative Education in Traditional Sand-Firing Technique of Sichuan
Abstract
This paper introduces the significance of intangible cultural heritage (ICH), including traditional crafts. A literature review is conducted in the ICH of China, the Ying-Jing sand firing technique (YJS) in Sichuan, and cooperative education. This is followed by interviews with experts involving in the YJS cooperative project in Sichuan. Although the local government has set out the ICH projects and Ya-An Polytechnic College implemented the project in YJS education in the form of a school-enterprise cooperative education, the authors find that there are several factors affecting their educational development. In conclusion, the authors recommend that it is critical to increasing the ability of teachers to be qualified in YJS education; encourage the YJS experts or inheritors to share their knowledge and learn to work in cooperative education; elicit their experiential knowledge and documenting it, and provide specific training.
