Paper Title
Ground Plane Effect on an Inverted-F Microstrip Patch Antenna Design for Nanosatellite
Abstract
The Planar Inverted-F Antenna (PIFA) is widely used in nanosatellites system because of its excellent performance. This paper presents a comprehensive effect of the ground plane for PIFA antenna involving the several analyzing of antenna performances. The effect of PIFA performances are sensitive under the position of port to observe their effects on the characteristics of PIFA antenna. It is also found that the dimension of ground plane is an important role in achieving the S11 parameter values which involves in S band using Computer Simulation Technology (CST) studio suite simulator. It can be obtained the return loss of -22dB in maximum peak results and radiation efficiencies to use in nanosatellite with the corresponding resonant frequencies. Furthermore, the simulation results of the plot of two and three dimensional radiation patterns, peak gain such as comparative of length of ground plane results for respective operating at 2.3GHz to 2.5GHz frequencies. The studies of performance results can be seen that the corresponding gain value of 4.94dBi at 2.4GHz in resonant frequency with the desired length of ground plane.
