Paper Title
The Combinative Thumb Supporter for Orthoses to Treat De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis

Abstract
The thumb supporter is an essential part of the orthosis to treat de Quervain’s tenosynovitis. The Combinative Thumb Supporter is composed of three-dimensional (3D) printed parts, which appropriate combinative parts can be selected in a customized manner. Real subjects’ hands were scanned for obtaining 3D hand images. Curvatures along the thumb to radial side of wrist were measured in sections. The collected data acted as references for the development of combinative parts. The Combinative Thumb Supporter was developed to reduce the fabrication time of orthosis, minimize the risk of injury brought by traditional thermoplastic molding process, and provide well-fitting performance for patient’s wearing comfort and sufficient immobilization of patient’s thumb and wrist.
