Paper Title
Gate Phase Shift Approach to RF Output Power Control in Class-E Inverter Trio
Abstract
To protect the global environment from warming, electric vehicle (EV) is being promoted to replace conventional vehicles having a fossil fuel engine. However, current EV has drawbackscaused by batteries i.e. short cruising range, a long time for charging, and high cost.Hence, we areworking on the development of wireless power transfer (WPT) technology using capacitive coupling scheme to running vehicle such as EV, AGV, and UAV.Since the necessary power of EVs in motion varies with time, we expect to control the output power of an RF inverter for wireless power generation. To do this controlin class-E inverters, one of the conventional waysis to control FET’s DC drain voltage. However, they have problems with power conversion efficiency and circuit size. In this paper, we propose a new power control scheme. It employs three class-E inverters connected in parallel. The key feature is to adjust the phase of each gate signal.
