FPGA based Infrared Image Processing Unit
Image processing algorithms implemented in Verilog and synthetized on FPGA using Raspberry Pi compatible infrared camera and a Zybo Z7 SoC development board with compatible MIPI CSI-2 connector. The paper presents the design and the hardware implementation of the algorithms based on 3x3 kernels using 2D convolutions ang neighborhood processing, the selection and use of other sensors compatible with the board. An additional software approach is also presented to configure the designed module and program the dataflow.
