The Transition from “Digital Leadership” to “Smart Leadership” as a Consequence of the Transformation of Industry 4.0 into Industry 5.0

Abstract
The present article studies the economic, social and technological factors, conditions and prerequisites determining the Fourth and Fifth Industrial Revolutions, as well as the specific manifestations of the transformation of Industry 4.0 into Industry 5.0. Presented and analyzed are the viewpoints of a number of authors in respect to the driving factors for Industry 4.0. Following a critical, strategic analysis of the trends in a global aspect, there are specific syntheses drawn up by the author concerning the major factors leading to the transition to Industry 5.0. On the background of analysis of the specific characteristics of industries 4.0 and 5.0, there are the main requirements to leadership in the conditions of the two industrial revolutions brought forward. In spite of the scarcity of studies on the topic, the Concept of Digital Leadership, having been imposed in relation to the development of Industry 4.0, is upgraded to a Concept of Smart Leadership, meeting the challenges of Industry 5.0. An attempt is made to give for the first time definitions of the concepts “leadership 4.0” and “leadership 5.0”. Outlined are the main similarities and differences between the two concepts, as well as the fundament and borderlines on which they are based.
