Paper Title
Polymer Assisted Zero Valent Iron (ZVI) Particles for the Removal of Arsenic from Water

Abstract
This paper deals with the synthesis and application of polymer supported-EDTA Nano Zero Valent Iron (NZVI) particles for the removal of Arsenic (As) from wastewaters. The polymers used in this study are Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (CMC) and Chitosan (Ch). These polymers supported-ENZVI particles were synthesized from the native E-NZVI particles. The particles were characterized using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). These studies were extended for the removal of Arsenic from wastewater with E-NZVI and polymer supported-ENZVI. Comparison of E-NZVI and polymer supported E-NZVI was made in terms of stability and efficiency of these particles for the removal of As. Arsenic adsorption was more efficient with polymer supported-ENZVI as compared to native E-NZVI and the order of reactivity for As adsorption is: Ch-ENZVI> CMC-ENZVI> E-NZVI respectively. As adsorption efficiency of 100% was achieved with Chitosan-ENZVI of 5 wt% and 100 mg at pH 2.0. Keywords - Zero Valent Iron, Encapsulation of ZVI, waste water treatment
