Paper Title
Study of the Neuroprotective Actions and Disease-Modifying Effects of Levetiracetam in Rat Model of Convulsions

Abstract
Epilepsy is a chronic neurological disease manifested by repeated unpredictable interruptions of normal brain function, called epileptic seizures. In this study, we studied Levetiracetam (LEV) in lithium-pilocarpine-induced convulsions in male Wistar rats. Herein, the possible neuroprotective effects of LEV were studied by revealing its different neuroprotective actions against lithium-pilocarpine-induced convulsions. To summarize, our results suggest that LEV has neuroprotective therapeutic effect in lithium-pilocarpine-induced experimental model of convulsions through its significant antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic effects.
