A Study on Tourism Prospects in Majuli as a Community Based Tourism & Sustainable Tourism
Abstract
Tourism in India is having a high potential to attract myriads of inbound & domestic tourists from all over the world. As India is topped up with diverse culture & cusines,among them the North East India exhibit flamboyant attractions. So studies have spotlighted about the unspecified destinations of Assam is Majuli.Majuli can be a perfect holiday destination if it will be channelized properly. As the destination is full of natural & cultural resources which have a potential to attract thousands of tourist. The Island is virtually cut off from the mainland, tourist can reach their via ferry from Nimati Ghat. The island is full of attractions like monestries, pottery items,mask making centers & many migratory birds. The unique attractions of Majuli is mask making center can attraction numerous of tourists & have potential to promote Community Based Tourism, later Narakasur Raja Idol at Mask Making Centre ,Dakhinpat Satra,Kamlabari Satra & many more places to be highlited to promote tourism.
