Abstract
Appreciated or criticized, foundations remain important players in funding health research. The paper aims to present the role of international foundations in health. The arrival of the global health phenomenon gave birth to a new communication channel between patients and health providers, challenging traditional channels and creating new opportunities. The research highlights the importance of foundations in research into ruthless diseases in different places in the world. Without donors and volunteers, some of today's rescue treatments simply would not exist. When it comes to funding medical research, foundations are a small part of the whole, complemented by industries and governments. The philanthropic aspect has not only opened up new possibilities for health breakthroughs, but has also opened a wide research window for scholars and academics.
