Paper Title
Antioxidative and Anti-inflammatory Activities of the Fractions of Mucuna Pruriens Var. Pruriens Seeds

Abstract
Mucunapruriensis a medicinal plant used in ayurvedic medicine as an anti-inflammatory, antioxidative, neuroprotective, analgesic, and anti-arthritis agent. There are two varieties of M. pruriens: var. utilis and var. pruriens. The study aims to evaluate the antioxidative and anti-inflammatory activities of various fractions isolated from the ethanol extract of M. pruriens var. pruriens seeds found in Thailand. The result showed M. pruriens var. pruriens seeds processes antioxidant activity on scavenging to DPPH, nitric oxide, and inhibit lipid peroxidation. The potency of antioxidant activity of crude extract and all fractions depends on free radical species. Besides crude extract and all fractions can reduce ear edema thickness that induced by EPP reveal that M. pruriens var. pruriens seeds also have anti-inflammatory activity. The aqueous ethanol fraction and crude ethanol extract exhibited better potential antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities when compared to other fractions. Keywords - Mucunaprurienvar. pruriens, Antioxidative activity, Anti-inflammatory activity.
