Critical Analysis of Citizenship Rules of Olympic Council of Asia
Abstract
Olympic Games were started with the aim of bringing people together through sports. It promoted sportsmanship and honest play. But today both the athletes and the nations are only interested in winning by hook or crook. This paper tries to critically analyse the citizenship rules of Olympic council of Asia with reference to human rights of athletes. It analysis the results of the Jakarta Asian Games 2018 and discusses how this has affected the athletes, positively and negatively. The paper concludes that it is important to have an organization to keep a check on this and works for the human rights of athletes. It has been observed that poverty and illiteracy is the main cause of this athlete trade, but no country has the right to exploit the other in this manner.
