Paper Title
Socio-Economic and Political Rights of Women in Islam and the Question of Gender Equality

Abstract
This paper discusses Women’s Rights under the Provision of Shariah with Reference to Socio-Economic and Political Rights as well as Leadership and Public Participation of Women in Shariah. It emphasized that woman and man are all creatures of Allah, having equal worth and value, but their equal importance does not substantiate a claim for equivalence or perfection identity. The paper concludes that both woman and man in Islam are treated equally and also enjoy equal rights and privileges. Though the general principle is that there is no significant difference in their obligations and responsibilities, there are some unchangeable difference between the two sexes which makes their roles and obligations different.
