How Economic Crisis Effects Social Responsibility of Managers?

Abstract
Paper reports about an examination on longitudinal effect of economic crisis’ circumstances on managers’ attitudes toward social environment in years 2010 to 2015. Study draws upon the environmentalism, behavior, and organizational theories; it analyzes answers from 861 managers in Slovenian organizations. In the aggregated sample, authors identify impact of crisis’ economic circumstances on managers’ attitudes toward social environment. Study of impact of economic circumstance in the considered period 2010 - 2015reveals the long-term effect of crisis’ economic circumstances on decreasing of managers’ care for their social environments. Conceptual implications indicate the need for further study of relations between changing of economic circumstances and managers’ behavior. Practical implications outline complementary actions for a more balancing achievement of responsible organizational and economics goals in business decisions of managers.
