Paper Title
Fuzzy Control Design for Terminal Voltage Regulation of Generators
Abstract
This paper presents a new model and control strategy for the generator voltage control system including its saturation nonlinearities. First, a Takagi-Sugeno-Kang (TSK) model with prescribed error bounds is obtained for the system using input-output data as well as the mathematical models of its linear subsystems. Next, a TSK proportional controller that guarantees a prescribed rate of exponential convergence is designed for the generator voltage control system using its TSK model. The TSK modeling and TSK control strategy are shown to provide a good dynamic response for the system, including saturation nonlinearities. Through computer simulation, the paper shows the importance of including the nonlinearities that are inherent in generator voltage regulation in its mathematical model and control system design.
