Thermal Stability of Starch�Polyurethane Nanocomposites
Abstract
Starch�polyurethane nanocomposites (Starch�PU) were prepared by incorporating starch into a polyurethane matrix by a casting method. Thermal stability and dynamic mechanical properties of the Starch�PU nanocomposites were characterized. Thermal stability and crystallization temperature of the Starch�PU nanocomposites were enhanced compared with that of the pure polyurethane. The storage modulus incremented with starch composition, while the damping factor (tanδ) decreased.
