Study on Deforestation, Causes, Solutions and Solution Implementation

Abstract
Deforestation in forests is mainly driven by socio-economic factors and considered as one of the key issues of the sustainable use and management of biodiversity. Using Uganda as the case study the results revealed that livelihood activities, period of residence close to forests and distance from homestead to the forests significantly influence deforestation in the study area. The communities and the involved parties are aware of the negative consequences of deforestation and forest degradation. They however choose to ignore because of the short term benefits.
