The Innovation of Information System Online Services for Public Administration Students, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University
The study entitled “The Innovation of Information System Online Services for Public Administration Students, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, SuanSunandhaRajabhat University” aims to explore
the contemporary academic services for the Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Social Sciences
and Humanities, in order to apply the innovation to information system online services towards a mobile application using Google Form. The designed application provides the academic services for the Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. This study is a qualitative research involving 30 samples who were public administration program students from three departments: 10 local government students, 10 public administration students and 10 public and private sectors administration. The samples were selected by the Cluster Random Sampling technique.
The data was collected towards the use of structured interviews, and then analyzed by descriptive statistics.
The findings were explained in accordance with the relevant concepts and theories in order to meet the research objective. The research findings showed that, in terms of documentation, the contemporary academic services for the public administration program prepared a variety of forms for the students, but they had to fill out
the forms by themselves. With regards to the duration of services, the students had to travel back and forth
in order to contact the officers; they had to waste time and money to transportation. Considering the materials and equipment, there were unnecessary use of paper and materials as well as high capital costs, causing high organization expenditure. In relation to the students’ satisfaction, the services were not quick and outdated due to the lack of modern technology. Lastly, concerning the intrinsic value, the paper-based services caused
the paper and energy wastes, which indicated the negligence on environmental impacts and the lack of digital technology acknowledgement. After applying the information system online services to the provision of academic services for public administration students towards the use of a mobile application using Google Form, it was found out that most students agreed to use the developed services due to the increase of convenience and swiftness, the decrease
of services process and waiting time, the decline of paper use, more awareness on environmental impacts,
less organizational expenditure, better social responsibility, green organization and response to the digital era.
