Paper Title
Optimization of Order Sequencing for Unit-Load As/Rs With A Dual-Shuttle

Abstract
Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS) have many advantages such as terminating storing and retrieving tasks faster than conventional methods, cutting down on human factor and using storage space effectively in large warehouses. AS/RS machines are taken a new shape by increasing shuttle number to 2, 3 or more in order to transport more stuff in one carry cycle. The increase in the number of shuttles has made it more complicated to calculate the optimum route of AS/RS. This paper overcomes the order sequencing problem of AS/RS with dual-shuttle. The problem mentioned is came to a solution by adapting Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). Main goal of the algorithm is minimizing the travel distance of AS/RS machine. Results of the PSO algorithm were compared to absolute shortest path. Several numerical examples are given to demonstrate the suitability of the proposed algorithm. In conclusion, simulation represented that PSO algorithm is successful to find optimal solution for shortest path of AS/RS machine.
