Investigating the Determinants of Human Attitude and Ethics on Adoption of Sustainable Technology: A Study of Malaysian SMES

Abstract
The aim of this research is to investigate the impact of human perceptions, persuasion and ethics on the adoption of sustainable technology within the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Malaysia. The study focuses on the human factors such as attitudes, persuasions and ethical belief on adoption of sustainable technology in the SMEs context in emerging economy such as Malaysia.The research develops a conceptual research model of sustainable technology adoption based on existing theories such as the theory of reasoned action (TRA), theory of planned behavior (TPB), attribution theory (AT), environmental attitudes model and the triple bottom line model. A total number of 168 data were collected from1378 SMEs in Malaysia. The results show that affective attitudes, cognitive attitudes, anthropocentrism and altruism are significantly affecting the sustainable technology adoption decision.
