A Survey of Deep Learning Application in Predictive Maintenance
Estimating the time of maintenance of in-service equipment has been along standing issue for predictive maintenance. This approach provides enough scheduling time as opposed to total downtime or sudden failures of such equipment which could be very costly.However, predictive maintenance is a very difficult task because it relies on the actual condition of the equipment rather than the average statistics of equipment’s lifetime. Over the years, several models and tools have been developed. Recently, due to the availability of numerous data especially with the advent of internet of things (IoT),deep leaning models have been applied to tackle the problem of estimating the time of maintenance of equipment before failure occurs.In this paper, we present a concise yet intuitive survey of major works on the application of deep learning approach to predictive maintenance.
